Dan’Trell, you asked something of me this morning and I agreed to it. Are you changing your mind and the plan?

I had worried this would be a potential problem. Two jealous wives, four bleeding and breaking hearts. I had consented to this. A life where she hadn’t known what she wanted. A life full of uncertain twists and turns.

I can’t do this right now; nothing is certain and there’s no point in wasting energy until we know the next steps. Why am I offering to live a life of pain if she is unable to see past her jealousy? I could have everything we want, a public life after I graduate. A life where I’m not the other woman, a life where I’m not aching every time I watch her walk out a closed door and I can’t follow. I almost wanted to smack myself. I can’t ask anyone else who was like me to live this life. Four to suffer for the lives of all? I’m sure there was a book somewhere on it. I steeled my heart and fixed my make-up with a light touch of mascara.

I went back out to the room. Jordain was lying on her back staring at the ceiling. She no longer had tears dripping down her cheeks, but she didn’t seem happy.

“You two come up with a plan?” I asked her.

“She’s going to have dinner with her wife. They’re going to discuss whether they want to work it out or not...” She sounded bitter as she let the thought trail off.

Serena had the same tactic on everyone. Lash out, hurt, and protect herself. Was mine any better? Live a life of secrecy for love? Would we truly ever be happy? I looked at her and decided to change the subject.

“What classes did you get?” I asked her.

She shrugged and pointed to her desk. I pulled out mine to review it first.

Half of it confused me. Individual study with LC Rossmore? What is that about? What type of field were they going to put me into? I shook my head and went to Jordain’s schedule.

She also had an individual study, but with Lieutenant Colonel Stewart and her special assignment was with Lieutenant Yang. She didn’t have all my classes either. The only classes outside of Squadron practice that we had was Survival Tier II and Herbal & Scientific Remedies. Looks like we’re being groomed for different things. Her classes ranged on communication and the history of public relations. I thought about it and realized she’d be great as a Public Affairs Officer.
